  • How can I order?
The quickest and simplest way is to place an order online for in-store pick up or shipping. Walk-in orders are also welcome, but there might be a small wait for your order. All orders, including online, are made fresh-to-order using fresh roasted beans.
  • How can I customize my label?
We customize labels for all orders. Labels will default to the purchaser’s first name. If you are purchasing a gift or would like a special name, then please let us know in the order notes.
  • When do you roast?
We roast daily, typically in the mornings. All beans are roasted within a week, using recently harvested beans. We roast in small batches to ensure freshness–most offerings will be roasted every one to three days.
  • What is the roast level of your coffee?
Our coffees are generally considered a “medium” roast. The truth is we source high quality coffees and roast each coffee just enough to bring out the best of what’s inherent in those particular beans. We also offer a limited amount of dark roast and blonde roast options.
  • Do you serve coffee?
We do not serve cups of coffee. We roast our beans in house and package to order.
  • Are you open to the public?
Yes! Our hours are Tuesday-Friday 9AM-6PM. We are open for walk-in and preplaced orders.
  • What kind of coffee beans do you use?
We only use 100% Arabica coffee beans. These beans are grown at higher elevations and produce a rich, smooth flavor rather than a sharp bitterness. All of our beans are from the recent harvest seasons.
  • Is whole bean really better?
Yes, yes, yes! We wholeheartedly believe it is worth the investment for a good coffee grinder. There is a major difference between pre-ground and fresh-ground coffee. Grinding your coffee is a quick, simple step in the coffee making process. Top-of-the-line grinders can be expensive–however, there are plenty of inexpensive grinders that will serve the average coffee drinker very well. We recommend a burr grinder, as it delivers a consistent grind.
  • Are your coffees whole bean or ground?
By default, all our coffees are packaged wholebean unless otherwise specified. We offer ground coffee, with default given to a medium grind. We will grind according to your brewing method if you let us know ahead of time. We do not guarantee the grind for espresso, as home setups vary greatly and espresso brewing requires fine adjustments.
  • Do you have decaf options?
We always carry at least three decaf options for coffee. We have Colombia Decaf, Swiss Water Decaf, and a rotating third decaf. Colombia Decaf is our standard–it does not change. Swiss Water (or Mountain Water) Process is a chemical-free, organic way of decaffeination. The origin for the Swiss Water Process changes about three times a year. We also carry herbal teas that are caffeine free.
  • Is your coffee fair trade and/or organic?
We don’t intentionally pursue any certifications attached to green coffees. All of our coffee is purchased well above the fair trade price. Fair trade does not guarantee producer sustainability, farmer sustainability, or quality coffee. Some of our coffees are organic–however, we do not advertise the organically grown coffee as such. Certifications are often confusing for customers and expensive for producers, and we find that certifications such as Fair Trade and Organic (and non-certs such as Direct Trade) are often abused in approaches to marketing coffee that we disagree with.
  • How should I store my coffee?
The three biggest determinants to coffee are air, light, and moisture. The best way to store coffee is in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. If you choose to keep your coffee in the bag, try to push as much air out as possible and ensure the seal is tight. Exposure to oxygen degrades coffee quicker, and storing it in an airtight environment will help your coffee stay fresh for longer. We suggest that you avoid storing coffee in a fridge or freezer. Moving beans in and out of the freezer every time you make coffee can introduce moisture to the beans, resulting in potential mold growth and degradation of the coffee. Similarly, coffee easily absorbs the flavor of things around it. Take care in choosing a container to store it in (might want to rethink reusing a pickle jar), and be mindful that storing near odorous foods, spices, etc. may change the flavor of the coffee.
  • How should I brew my coffee?
Please visit our brewing page here. Coffee brewing is as much an art as it is a science, and it might take a few tries for you to find a sweet-spot that matches your taste preference. We recommend not getting too lost in the "right" way to brew, but instead focus on what you like and try to educate yourself on some best practices. Then, just take it from there!
  • Which holidays are you closed for?
We are closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Adjustments in hours for any other occasion or holiday will be posted on our social media and at our physical location.
  • How long does coffee stay fresh?
Coffee doesn’t expire, but we recommend enjoying our coffee between 3-21 days of the roast date for optimal freshness. The sooner you brew coffee from when it was roasted, the fresher it is and the better it will taste.
  • How quick will my order ship out?
We roast Tuesday–Friday and ship Tuesday–Friday. This schedule occasionally changes around major US holidays. We aim to send you the freshest coffee available. The cut-off time for getting your order in to ship the following day is 12PM Central Time. If a major U.S. holiday falls on a business day you can expect your coffee to go out the next available shipping day. We don't ship on the weekends, so any orders placed Thursday afternoon through Monday afternoon will ship on Tuesday. If you order online, we’ll send you a notification when your order has shipped.
  • What shipping carriers do you use?
We ship via UPS and FedEx Tuesday–Friday. These carriers also observe most national holidays, so this may affect shipping times.
  • How do I get the best shipping rates?
Shipping rates are at all time highs–we pass the best rates onto our customers, and therefore do not make any profit on shipping. Shipping rates are based on weight. To get the best rate per pound, order in quantities of 4 pounds or 6 pounds. Orders containing 1-4 pounds are the same shipping price, and orders for 5-6 pounds are the same shipping price. The cost increases per pound starting at 7 pounds.
  • Do you donate to fundraiser events?
Yes, we do! We make donations in the form of coffee, gift cards, or merchandise. We have a quarterly limit. Email us at contact@ozarkmountaincoffee.com and we’ll let you know if we can accommodate your request.
  • How do I make a return/exchange?
We are happy to return non-coffee items so long as they are in the original condition, unworn/unused, and within 30 days. Please bring your item back to our roastery with a copy of your original receipt and we can accept your return. We do not accept coffee returns at this time, due to each item being custom produced. However, if there is a problem with your coffee, please email us at contact@ozarkmountaincoffee.com and we will be happy to serve you.
